Meeting at the Ministry of Economy discusses ways to expand cooperation with the United Kingdom

The meeting reviewed opportunities to further develop economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Lord Anas Sarwar, Minister of State for Trade at the Department for Business, Innovation and Science of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and a Member of the House of Lords.

The meeting discussed the current state and prospects for developing bilateral economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom. An exchange of views was held on expanding trade and investment ties, strengthening partnerships between business communities, and exploring new economic opportunities.

The sides considered opportunities to develop cooperation in the areas of the digital economy and innovation. They also discussed further development of economic and trade relations within the framework of the activities of the Joint Governmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom.

The sides emphasized the importance of making effective use of the existing potential to diversify bilateral economic ties, expand direct cooperation between businesses, and implement new joint initiatives.
