Role of Intangible Investments in Economic Growth Discussed

As part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, a panel discussion titled “Intangible Investments: The Capital of the Future and a New Driver of Economic Growth” was held.

A panel discussion titled “Intangible Investments: The Capital of the Future and a New Driver of Economic Growth” was held as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, convened under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev. The session, held in collaboration with TP Engineering and Consultancy LLC, explored the role of intangible assets as a new source of productivity, competitiveness and long-term economic growth.

The discussions highlighted the importance of investment in intellectual property, software, data, research and development, brands and organizational capabilities. The participants also discussed the valuation, accounting and financing of intangible assets, the role of financial institutions and investors in this area, as well as the development of legal and institutional frameworks that encourage knowledge-based investment.
The panel also featured an exchange of views on transforming innovation, know-how and intellectual capital into business value, export opportunities and new investment prospects.

The discussion was moderated by Teodor Geonov, Journalist and International News Producer at AnewZ. The panel brought together Hikmet Abdullayev, Deputy Vice President of SOCAR; Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO; Albert Traxler, Sales Director for Eastern Europe & CIS Countries at POERNER, Austria; Rustam Ismayilov, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of TP Engineering and Consultancy LLC; Narmin Jafarova, Project Development Lead at Caspian Business Hub; and Vitaliy Yakovlev, Managing Partner of KPMG Azerbaijan.
