The priorities of the global energy agenda, the importance of transitioning to sustainable business models, and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of green energy with “ACWA Power” company were discussed.
Within the framework of the 30th Baku Energy Week, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Mohammad Abunayyan, Chairman of the Board of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's “ACWA Power” company.
The meeting highlighted the expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia across all sectors of the economy, particularly in the field of renewable energy. The role of collaboration with investors from Saudi Arabia in achieving our goals for the transition to "green" energy was emphasized. The project carried out by “ACWA Power” to build the largest wind power plant in the Caucasus region in Azerbaijan, as well as the work done in the field of seawater desalination, were recognized as significant examples of our cooperation.
