Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli visited China to attend the 10th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) held in Beijing, the capital of China.
Discussions were held at the event on the achievements of the AIIB over the past 10 years, as well as the Bank's future activities with member countries. Speaking at the "Directors' Roundtable" organized within the framework of the Annual Meeting, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli emphasized the successful cooperation with the Bank. The role of Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, in connecting regional markets through transport, energy and digital infrastructure was noted. The potential for cooperation with the Bank on transport-transit and logistics projects, as well as on the Middle Corridor, was highlighted.
During the meeting with Konstantin Limitovski, the Bank's Chief Investment Officer, held within the framework of participation in the 10th Annual Meeting of the AIIB, the importance of the work done by the Bank to support the development of infrastructure in member countries was noted. The parties discussed the current status of projects implemented between the AIIB and our country and considered the prospects for expanding cooperation.
