Prospects for developing economic and trade cooperation with Ukraine explored

The priority directions of the economic cooperation with Ukraine, the strategic advantages of the Middle Corridor and its role in enhancing regional connectivity have been discussed.

Within the framework of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister for Development of Communities and Territories.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of the economic and trade cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, as well as prospects for the future development. The sides highlighted that the development of the mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries is of high significance in terms of strengthening the regional economic integration.

The strategic advantages of the Middle Corridor were specially noted during the discussions. It was stressed that this route plays an important role in accelerating transportations between Europe and Asia, expanding logistical opportunities and strengthening regional connectivity. At the same time, the parties emphasized that expanding cooperation in industry, energy, infrastructure, transport and transit will contribute to the development of the economic relations.

At the meeting, views were also exchanged on the advancement of the partnership with SOCAR and opportunities to implement the joint initiatives.
