Development of cooperation with ExxonMobil Corporation explored

At the meeting held at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan with Keith Simpson, the Global Unconventional Explorations Manager at the ExxonMobil Corporation, the expansion of cooperation has been discussed.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with Keith Simpson, the Global Unconventional Explorations Manager at the U.S.-based ExxonMobil Corporation.

During the meeting, Azerbaijan’s economic priorities, favorable business and investment climate, as well as the growing interest of foreign investors in our country were specially highlighted.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the long-term involvement of ExxonMobil in projects such as “Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli” and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline. The sides also exchanged views on the priorities of the cooperation with SOCAR in realizing the oil and gas potential of our country, and the works carried out for assessing the potential unconventional oil reserves in Azerbaijan.

It is noteworthy that ExxonMobil is a major industrial company operating in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas, as well as the manufacturing, trade and transportation of petroleum, pertrochemical and special-purpose products. The company promotes investments in the development and application of low-emission technologies to strengthen energy security and accelerate the energy transition.
