Within the framework of President Ilham Aliyev’s participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Minister of Economy held meetings with the European Union's Commissioner for Enlargement, the Minister of Economy and Industry of the State of Israel, as well as the heads of the companies "Coca-Cola", "Growth Lab", "Boston Consulting Group", "BCG Henderson Institute", and "Menzies Aviation". Within the framework of the WEF, a services agreement was signed between SOCAR and Switzerland's SICPA SA company.
Within the framework of the participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with the European Union's Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos. The meeting highlighted the priorities on the agenda of the economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU, partnership in the fields of trade and energy, and measures being implemented to develop the transport-logistics infrastructure. Discussions were held on realizing the potential for developing the economic relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
Within the framework of the WEF, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Nir Barkat, the Minister of Economy and Industry of the State of Israel. The meeting emphasized the prospects for mutual activity in the directions of trade, industry, energy, and business partnership. The current issues on the agenda of the economic cooperation between our countries were reviewed.
Within the framework of the President of Azerbaijan's participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Michael Goltzman, Global Vice President for Policy and Sustainability at the Coca-Cola company. The projects implemented by the company in our country, investment plans, initiatives in the direction of sustainable development and formation of efficient infrastructure, as well as prospects for stimulating competitive production, were discussed.
The next meeting of the Minister of Economy within the framework of the WEF was held with Ricardo Hausmann, Director of the Growth Lab at Harvard Kennedy School. The parties shared their views on the reforms being carried out to realize the priorities of the economic development in Azerbaijan, cooperation with the Growth Lab, and the prospects of the "Green Growth Portal" project implemented within the framework of joint activities.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Nikolaus Lang, Vice Chair of Boston Consulting Group and Global Leader of the BCG Henderson Institute, within the framework of the WEF. Discussions were held on the impact of digital transformation on the formation of economic strategies, prospects in the trade sector, artificial intelligence, and strengthening the geopolitical resilience of companies.
Within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Hassan El-Houry, Executive Chairman of the Menzies Aviation company. The meeting discussed the work being done in our country toward the sustainable development of the aviation sector, the application of innovations in this field and the promotion of investments, as well as prospects for cooperation. Mutual exchange of experience, support for initiatives aimed at training and employment were noted.
It is noteworthy that within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, a services agreement was signed between SOCAR and Switzerland's SICPA SA. This cooperation will ensure the establishment of a framework for joint activities through modern monitoring technologies. The new solutions will contribute to ensuring security in the energy supply chain and increasing transparency.
