Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park plays key role in production of competitive products

Significant achievements have been made in the export of products manufactured in the park.

Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, the largest industrial park in the South Caucasus, plays an important role in the production of chemical industry products in our country.

By the Decree of the Head of State dated July 30, 2024, the territory of the industrial park was expanded, and a favorable business and investment environment has been created there. As in other industrial parks operating in our country, the necessary infrastructure for the effective implementation of entrepreneurial activity has been provided, along with the application of incentives and concessions. Entrepreneurs in the industrial park are provided with ready-made infrastructure at the expense of state funds. In addition, from the date of registration, residents of the park are fully exempt from property, land, and income taxes for a period of 10 years, as well as from VAT and customs duties on the import of machinery, technological equipment, and installations intended for production purposes. To date, more than 900 certificates of confirmation have been issued to the residents of the park, enabling them to save over 400 million AZN on the import of machinery and technological equipment.

In the industrial park, 39 business entities with an investment portfolio of over 6 billion AZN have been granted resident status, of which 28 are already operational. Entrepreneurs have invested more than 5.5 billion AZN to date, creating over 6,300 permanent jobs.

Including the first half of 2025, the residents of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park have sold a total of approximately 14.4 billion AZN worth of products, of which nearly 5.2 billion AZN accounted for exports. In the first half of this year, product sales in the industrial park exceeded 1.1 billion AZN, with exports amounting to nearly 545 million AZN. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by approximately 20%.

It should be noted that significant growth has recently been observed in the production of chemical industry products. In January–July 2025, the production volume in Azerbaijan's chemical industry increased by 10.7% compared to the same period last year, exceeding 955 million AZN. Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park has played a significant role in this growth.

Significant achievements have also been made in the export of chemical construction materials, steel and polymer pipes, lubricants, polymers, urea, various types of cables, glass panels, ceramic tiles, and other products manufactured in the park. These products have been exported under the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand to more than 70 countries worldwide.
