Within the framework of Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov’s business trip to North Macedonia, discussions were held on the priority areas of relations with this country and the development of economic cooperation.

Within the framework of the visit, the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, received the Azerbaijani delegation.
The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, emphasized the expansion of friendly relations between our countries and shared her views on strengthening the partnership.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov noted the rapid development of cooperation with North Macedonia and the expansion of economic and trade relations. It was emphasized that there is great potential for strengthening the partnership. In this regard, the implementation of joint projects and initiatives is of significant importance. During the meeting, information was provided about Azerbaijan’s economic potential, and the priority areas of cooperation and prospects for the development of economic collaboration were highlighted.
During the meeting between Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and the Speaker of the Assembly of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, the importance of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as collaboration in trade, investment, and other areas, was emphasized. It was noted that there is significant potential for joint economic activity between the two countries. The prospects for partnership in energy, trade, and investment, as well as the expansion of the contractual and legal framework, were discussed.
At the meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Izet Mexhiti, information was provided about Azerbaijan’s favorable investment climate and economic potential. It was noted that Azerbaijan is located in a strategic geographical position, at the crossroads of major transport routes, and has become a transit hub. The parties discussed the prospects for bilateral relations, joint initiatives and potential projects, as well as strengthening cooperation in traditional and renewable energy sectors.
At the meeting with North Macedonia’s Minister of Economy and Labor, Besar Durmishi, the importance of intensifying joint efforts in the areas of trade, investment, energy, tourism, and transport was emphasized. The parties expressed interest in advancing the economic partnership agenda, including the implementation of priority projects in various sectors, and discussed opportunities to promote business ties between the two countries’ business communities.
At the meeting with North Macedonia’s Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, information was provided about Azerbaijan’s long-term strategic initiatives, regional and global projects, as well as ongoing investment initiatives. The prospects for promoting partnership between the two countries in the fields of energy, investment, trade, tourism, and agriculture were highlighted, and the mutual benefits of diversifying areas of cooperation were assessed.
