A visit of business representatives from the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization to the Aghdam Industrial Park was organized by the Ministry of Economy.
Within the framework of the “ECO Week” organized for the first time on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, a visit of business representatives from the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to the Aghdam Industrial Park was organized.
Business representatives from ECO member countries were informed about the efforts being made to reintegrate the liberated territories into Azerbaijan’s national economy. It was emphasized that realizing the economic potential of these areas is one of Azerbaijan’s main priorities. For this purpose, large-scale reconstruction and development works are being carried out under the leadership of the Head of State.
Various incentives and privileges are being applied to expand entrepreneurial activity in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur regions. In this context, the industrial zones established in the liberated territories offer significant economic opportunities for entrepreneurs. The state provides these industrial parks with ready infrastructure. Residents are fully exempt from property, land, and income taxes, as well as from VAT and customs duties on the import of machinery, technological equipment, and installations for production purposes for a period of 10 years from the date of registration. Additionally, loans granted to business entities operating in the liberated territories are backed by state guarantees, and part of the interest is subsidized. Entrepreneurs engaged in production activities in these areas also receive monthly financial assistance from the state budget in the amount of 20% of the payments made for consumed utility services.
Business representatives familiarized themselves with the operations of enterprises located in the Aghdam Industrial Park. It was noted that the park, which is strategically located and spans 190 hectares, has already allocated over 70% of its territory for use by entrepreneurs. The park’s priority areas include the production of construction materials, the manufacturing and processing of agricultural and food products, the production of animal feed and fertilizers, as well as the establishment of service sectors. The growing interest from entrepreneurs is reflected in the fact that this industrial park ranks second in the country in terms of the number of resident enterprises among the nine existing industrial parks. The products manufactured in the park are supplied not only to the domestic market but also exported abroad.
