In Baku, discussions were held on expanding economic relations with China within the framework of the Azerbaijan-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference.
With the support of the Ministry of Economy, and jointly organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO and the Guangdong Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Azerbaijan-China (Guangdong) Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference was held in Baku. The event was attended by officials from both sides, as well as representatives from more than 60 companies operating in industries such as manufacturing, energy, finance, construction, trade, and other sectors.
At the conference, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev emphasized the expansion of Azerbaijan-China relations based on mutual friendship and trust. It was noted that the signing of the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to China in April this year has elevated the relations to a new level. At the event, information was provided about the country’s economic potential, favorable business environment, opportunities created for investors, industrial zones, and business prospects in liberated territories. Chinese businesspeople, including representatives from Guangdong Province, were actively invited to engage in cooperation.
Lin Kiging, Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, noted the dynamic development of economic cooperation with Azerbaijan and stated that our country has become China’s main trade partner in the South Caucasus. Lin Kiging said that Guangdong Province’s potential in innovation and technology creates broad opportunities for joint initiatives in Azerbaijan’s industry, trade, and alternative energy sectors.
Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO, provided information about the Agency's efforts to promote and introduce non-oil products under the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand in the Chinese market, as well as support for Chinese businesses operating in our country.
Bay Mingshao, a first-level bureau official of the Guangdong Branch of CCPIT, emphasized the growing contacts between the business communities of China and Azerbaijan and highlighted the importance of result-oriented joint initiatives.
China’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, shared his thoughts on the dynamic growth of the rapidly developing Azerbaijan-China relations and the strengthening of cooperation across various sectors.
At the conference, Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of the Authorized Body of the Alat Free Economic Zone, and Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA), spoke about the country's business, trade, and transit opportunities. Representatives of AZPROMO and companies from both countries also delivered presentations on potential investment projects.
At the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AZPROMO and the CCPIT Guangdong Committee, aimed at expanding multifaceted cooperation.
The conference continued with B2B meetings.
