Trade Representative of Azerbaijan for Central Asian Countries

In accordance with the instructions set forth by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 26, 2017, “On the appointment of trade representatives in the embassies and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan operating in foreign countries, trade representatives are appointed in foreign states.

In November 2025, Samad Hasanov was appointed Trade Representative for the Central Asian countries, based in Uzbekistan, covering Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

Azerbaijan’s Trade Representative for the Central Asian countries plays an important role in developing trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Central Asia, promoting the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand and Azerbaijan’s investment environment in these countries, and increasing the country’s non-oil exports.

Samad Hasanov was born in 1990. In 2012, he graduated from Azerbaijan State University of Economics with a degree in General Economics, and in 2018 he graduated in Law from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in Belarus.

He began his professional career in 2015 as a Senior Project Manager at the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), where he held various positions. From August 10, 2023, he served as Director of the Investment Promotion Department.
