· Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) - The Restructuring Credit Institute (KfW) was established in 1948 to cooperate with the local government and the private sector through investment and advisory services to improve economic and social conditions, poverty reduction, protection of natural resources and peace in the world;

· 80% of the Bank's shares belong to the Government of Germany. The bank operates on behalf of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. Headquarters are located in Frankfurt, Germany. KfW Bank operates in more than 100 countries worldwide;

· Stefan Wintels has served as the board chairman since 2021;

· The Bank mainly operates in the areas of socio-economic infrastructure (energy supply, transport, and telecommunications), agriculture and resource protection, as well as providing credit to small and medium enterprises.

Information about cooperation between Azerbaijan and the organization

· KfW Bank has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1994;

· Since 1998, the Bank has a permanent representative office in Azerbaijan;

· In connection with the completion of the projects implemented by KfW in our country, the Bank’s office in Azerbaijan ceased its operations as of January 2021.

· KfW has been implementing various investment projects and providing consulting services in Azerbaijan;

  • Sovereign loans were attracted for 11 projects, and all projects have been completed.
