Non-oil industry

 

The value added in the amount of AZN 28 billion was produced in non-oil sector in January-September of 2015, and generally, 60% of value added was produced in the fields of the social and other services, trade, repair of vehicles and construction.
During January-September of 2015, volume of value-added created in the non-oil fields of economy increased by 6.4% compared to the same period of the previous year. It constituted 68.8% of GDP increasing by 10.3 percentage points. During this period, 3.7% of the value added created in the economy was completely due to the non-oil sector. Trade and construction are the areas positively contributing to GDP growth on the sub-sectors of the non-oil sector (0.9 percentage points).
The growth rate of value added in most areas of the non-oil sector was higher than in the same period of the previous year. Trade and repair of vehicles (1.5 percentage points) gave the largest positive contribution to GDP growth in non-oil sector.

During January-September of 2015, the amount of value added in the non-oil industry increased by 4.6% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year and reached AZN 2166.7 million. During this period, the share of non-oil sector in GDP increased by 0.7 percentage points and reached 15.6%. The share of the non-oil sector in the value added created in the industry constituted 7.8%. Non-oil industry contributed positively to GDP growth 0.5 percentage points, non-oil GDP growth by 0.8 percentage points, while industry growth by 1.1 percentage points.
The specific weight of mining industry in the structure of the added value created in the non-oil industry was 1.5% or AZN 32.2 million, processing industry 55.1% or AZN 1193.7 million, electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply 40.2% or AZN 871.3 million, water supply and waste treatment 3.2 % or AZN 69.5 million.
During January-September of 2015, product output in non-oil industry increased by 10.2% compared with the same period of the previous year and constituted AZN 5633.8 million.
Specific weight of the product output in non-oil sector in all industrial products of the country grew by 7.8 percentage points and constituted 28.6% compared with the same period of the previous year. Non-oil sector contributed positively to industry growth by 2.1 percentage points.
Over the reporting period the fields of installation and repair of machinery and equipment (0.9 percentage points), chemical industry (0.8 percentage points), production of food-stuffs (0.3 pp), construction materials (0.2 pp), electrical equipments (0.1 pp) made positive contribution to the growth of non-oil industry on the non-oil processing areas. According to the calculations, non-oil processing industry made a positive contribution to the growth of non-oil industry sector by 10.6 percentage points, electric power, gas and vapor production, distribution and supply-0.6 pp, water supply, waste treatment and processing – 0.1 pp. During the reporting period, the spheres of assembling and repair of vehicles and equipments (4.1 pp), chemical industry (4.0 pp), production of food stuffs (1.3 pp), production of final metal materials, production of construction materials (0.8 pp), production of computers and other electronic equipments (0.6 pp), production of electrical equipments (0.5 pp) gave the most positive contribution to the growth of non-oil industry.
The share of mining sector in non-oil industrial products was 1.7% or AZN 96.5 million, processing industry – 70.5% or AZN 3969.4 million, electric power, gas and vapor production, distribution and supply – 24.8% or AZN 1396.5 million, water supply and waste treatment – 3.0% or AZN 171.6 million.
Pursuant to the calculations, at that time, the share of processing industry in non-oil industry output increased by 0.5 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.
During January-September of 2015, production output in non-oil sector of industry increased by 4.2% compared with the same period of the previous year.
Increase of growth temp of several leading spheres of processing industry (production of food stuffs, production of construction materials, chemical industry, assembling and repair of vehicles and equipments, metal industry, production of final metal materials, production of electrical equipments, and production of computer, electron and optic products) leads to the augmentation of growth temp.
During January-September of 2015, output production increased in most sections of the non-oil processing industry, including production of food products (3.6%), machinery and equipment installation and repair (2.1 times), construction materials (12.2%), metallurgical industry (5.1%), chemical industry (97.2%), electricity equipment manufacturing (20.8%), fabricated metal products (62.0%), clothing (59.9%), production of computer, electron and optic products (71.9%), furniture production (5.2%), polygraphy (76.3%), leather and leather products, shoe production (74.1%), wood processing and manufacturing of wooden products.
Over January-September of 2015, 54.8% or AZN 6479.7 million of total investments to fixed capital in the economy was made into the non-oil sector.7.5% of fixed capital investments, 13.8% or 891.3 million AZN of investment directed to the non-oil sector has been used in the development of the non-oil industry.
